What is METERA?

METERA is Me.

I am a solo brand strategist. This is my portfolio.

The work I create lives at the intersection of design, technology, and Pan-Asian culture. My focus is on providing creative services in three disciplines - Strategic Planning, Brand Experience, and Content Creation.

I create solutions for my Clients while working solo, remotely with a network of global creative professionals, or embedded within my Client’s marketing, corporate communications, investor relations, and executive teams.

What does METERA do?

Clients hire METERA to design identities, digital experiences, develop brand strategies, and investor roadshow marketing campaigns that resonate in the ever-changing Pan-Asian business environment.

What kinds of projects does METERA work on?

Interesting ones. International ones. Challenging ones. Emotional ones.

METERA works on projects that challenge the expectations of both myself and my Clients; projects that allow my Clients and I to work with joy, to redefine our boundaries, and push our collective creative envelopes.

 

02/ WHY

Why the name METERA?

METERA is an anagram of the word arete (with an extra “M” at the start of the name).

Arete is a Greek word which means in its basic sense "excellence of any kind". The term also means "moral virtue". In its earliest appearance in Greek, this notion of excellence was ultimately bound up with the notion of the fulfillment of purpose or function: the act of living up to one's full potential. 

Arete is the hidden meaning within the METERA anagram; it is the mantra that informs my work.

Who does METERA work with?

METERA primarily works with lifestyle and media-inspired brands and companies based in the Pan-Asian region.

Who am I?

I am a seasoned brand strategist.

I have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful branding, investor relations, corporate communications, investor roadshows, and advertising campaigns in diverse cross-cultural Pan-Asian business environments.

During my 20+ year tenure in Asia, I have been consistently successful in growing financial media, lifestyle, entertainment, and creative businesses organically, while driving market share, revenue, and profit growth. My talent for making a rapid assessment of new growth opportunities has resulted in my strategic branding oversight of four successful IPOs on the NASDAQ (New York), Nikkei (Tokyo), and NYSE Euronext (Paris) exchanges as well as in multiple private placements with transactions amounting to over $1.5B.

When not working in Asia, I have also enjoyed a second career as a commercial photographer. I have photographed award-winning social, editorial, and commercial campaigns in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, South East Asia, Europe, and North America. My photography has been featured in both national and international publications.
