Opportunity & Approach
I met with founders of CURATE DECOR & Design at a trade show and immediately felt a close creative connection to both of them and their team (the founder of CURATE was a former Apple marketing guru). After the trade show, CURATE retained me to shoot an installation they were setting up for use in a promotional video they were producing.
Together with the team at CURATE we developed concepts that storyboards off of which we would create still images and a BTS video.
OUTCOME
/Results
The anchor images which were used in marketing collateral materials, posters, and on their newly launched website. The content was also used in future press releases and PDFs.

/Solutions
01/ An unusually long production setup time create a smaller than expected window to shoot the images we had storyboarded.
We had not anticipated the complexity of setting up and rigging the installation. This forced the team to make adjustments on the fly to ensure the images we had storyboarded were created as we had envisioned them. In the end, the smaller window was a blessing in disguise as it brought the team closer for forced us to be more efficient.
02/ Color grading and post-production was a little challenging because of the mixed lighting sources in the venue.
We had settled on using a mixture of strobes and available light. Initially this posed a few problems, but after settling into a color profile that we all liked, we were able to use the different color profiles to create a look that was completely new.
